I Hate When Writers Write “Guess what.”

Well the title says it all. I read almost all internet marketing scams offers, and even the best of the writers, somewhere in his overstuffed sales letter, makes an obvious statement, followed by the words “guess what?”
I stopped saying that in nineteen fifty nine. Stop writing that! Makes you sound like an idiot. Thing is, I think all of these IM money grubbing bastards follow a templated sales letter. They all attempt to emulate the success of the last guy who made a million dollars with a similar sales letter, using similar language and just repeat what they think works.

Maybe they’re right. I don’t phuqueing know anything any more, except that:
first off, lots of folks have laid out a good deal of money, making the author rich and
second, that writing those words make a person sound like an idiot.

Can’t blame them though. I wouldn’t mind being thought be an idiot,…for the right price. But guess what, I often do it for free.
